Clients are asked to bring the following pieces of information to their scheduled appointment:
- Picture Identification
Driver's License, Michigan State Identification, Passport or Other - Proof of Residency (must have a date within the last 30 days)
Rental Receipt, Utility Bill (with same name and address), or Other - Proof of Household Income (for the last 30 days)
Pay Stubs, SSI, FIA/ADC, or Other - Proof of Child Custody
Insurance, Medicaid Card, School Enrollment, or Other - Proof of Income for All Adults Over 18 Living in the Household
Open Door Outreach Center services 14 zip codes within Oakland County including Waterford, White Lake, West Bloomfield, Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, Commerce, Walled Lake, Wolverine Lake and parts of Wixom. Referrals from other agencies are also accepted. Families who live outside of our service area will find some help and referrals to agencies in their home area.
Clothing Program/Client Choice Food Pantry
Open Door Outreach Center provides vouchers to qualifying families and individuals 3-4 times a year to be used for at our Thrift Store for household needs and clothing. Low-income families or individuals in need can receive gently-used, clean, seasonal clothing, coats, shoes, and household items at no cost. Vouchers are available 3-4 times per year/seasonally or as needed. Current qualifying clients typically* shop monthly from our Client Choice Food Pantry much like a grocery store choosing the items they need. *Frequency of shopping can vary depending upon the clients situation.
Referral Program
Open Door Outreach Center provides referrals to services in our community like housing, medical coverage and (SNAP)Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. We collaborate with other nonprofits, churches and agencies to provide support and help. We compassionately support and guide people to move each family to hope and self-sufficiency.
Crisis Assistance
Open Door Outreach Center meets with potential clients to qualify and determine their needs. Clients facing evictions, utility shutoffs, transportation issues, or medical problems are provided financial assistance and or referrals in the community as funding permits.

School's out!
And the kids will be eating ALL their meals at home. Feed a child this summer $25
During the summer break food insecurity for children is an issue. Mac n cheese, cereal, kid's snacks, juice boxes are needed. Financial donations are a big help throughout the summer.

Back to School
At the end of August Open Door Outreach Center distributes backpacks loaded with school supplies to our children in need. Want to help? Donate supplies or funds-$35 will provide shoes and clothing and $40 will provide a fully loaded backpack.
Holiday Meals Program
Open Door Outreach Center provides holiday meals for current qualifying clients during the spring, fall and winter holidays. Clients are typically offered choice of main meat entrée (ham or turkey) with sides and or gift card.
Birthday Bag Program
Our birthday bag program provides a "birthday party in a bag" for a child complete with cake mix/icing decorations, party hats and much more!
